Overview
NextGenEditor provide a complete set of permissions that can be affected to each group of users. The permissions relate to front-editing : page builder and inline-editing, widgets management : creating, editing, removing, and widgets content editing : only content, presentation selection among preset patterns, custom options.
For exemple you can allow your author users to edit only the widgets content without having access to the theming and display options.
Tips : using permissions can be a simple way to allow some of your users to edit only some specific texts, putting the texts you want to edit in text widgets like patterns.
Global permissions
These global permissions can be changed in the configuration of the NextGenEditor component, in the Joomla Administration screens. They apply to the edit features and all the widgets.
You can set permissions of each widget in the configuration screen of the widget.
ADMIN Configure ACL & Options
Allows users in the selected groups to edit the options and permissions of the NextGenEditor extension.
ADMIN Access the Administration Interface
Allows users in the selected groups to access the administration interface fit this extension.
EDITOR Edit content in front
Allows users in the selected groups to edit content in the website frontend : Joomla! content and widgets.
EDITOR Manage page theming
Allows users in the selected groups to manage page properties : body, main container and positions appearance.
WIDGETS Create widgets
Allows users in the selected groups to create new widgets.
WIDGETS Delete any widgets
Allows users in the selected groups to delete any existing widgets, wether they are the owner or not.
WIDGETS Edit own widgets
Allows users in the selected groups to edit the widgets that they have created.
WIDGETS Edit all widgets
Allows users in the selected groups to edit all widgets.
WIDGETS Edit content
Allows users in the selected groups to edit all the content of the widgets.
You can setup management permissions for each widget in the "access" tab of the widget configuration screen
WIDGET Edit options
Allows users in the selected groups to edit all the appearance and behaviour options of the widgets.
WIDGET Edit display
Allows users in the selected groups to edit the display and conditions options of the widgets.
WIDGET Edit access
Allows users in the selected groups to manage the permissions access of each widget.
WIDGET Choose a pattern
Allows users in the selected groups to choose the appearance and behaviour options of the widgets among existing patterns.
PATTERNS Edit and manage patterns
Allows users in the selected group to manage patterns : create, edit, delete any patterns for the widgets.
Permissions for a widget
You can setup management permissions for each widget in the "access" tab of the widget configuration screen. For example you can allow some author users to change the content of the widget without have access to the theming and display settings.
