NGE (NextGen Editor) uses bootstrap in some of its parts (widgets).
We use the existing bootstrap version of the current template.
For example in the template protostar, we use the internal Joomla bootstrap version.
If a template uses its own bootstrap version or css, NGE will use it.
In the backoffice NGE parameters, it is possible to override the bootstrap css to lauch strandard bootstrap css before the template or after.
Bootstrap 3 ?
NGE works with bootstrap 2 wich is the current version in Joomla.
NGE is ready for bootstrap 3. If you use a template width bootstrap 3, you can try NGE. Go to the backoffice NGE parameters, and set the bootstrap version to "3". It has not been fully tested, so there can be still some problems.
If you want to use it in a bootstrap 3 template, please ask us if you run into probems.
Bootstrap 4?
It has not yet been tested.
